Cookie Use

Effective 23 October 2026 · Version 2026-10-23

Essential sign-in cookies

The web app uses an essential prespad_session cookie to keep your PresPad account signed in, plus short-lived provider transaction cookies to complete secure sign-in. These are separate from your Google session. Security checks use a CSRF token to protect authenticated changes. Signing out ends your PresPad session.

Local storage and offline use

IndexedDB stores your account-isolated notebook, images where supported, and pending edits. Browser storage also remembers display preferences. The service worker caches public app code, fonts and images so returning visits can open without downloading the whole app again; it does not cache authenticated API responses. The landing page uses session storage to remember dismissal of its cookie information notice. Android uses application storage for notes and secure device storage for its session credential.

Your controls

These technologies support sign-in, security, offline editing and the preferences you request. PresPad currently sets no advertising or analytics cookies, so there is no optional tracking category to accept. If optional tracking is introduced, it will require a separate choice where applicable. You can remove site data through your browser settings or app data through Android settings, but export and sync first: clearing storage may destroy unsynced notes and will sign you out.

Shared devices and third parties

Sign out when finished on a shared device. A device PIN or biometric lock provides an additional local barrier. Google sign-in, Cloudflare and external services you visit may use their own cookies under their notices. Contact [email protected] with questions about PresPad storage.
